The west gate is built in the west of Qunxian Building Group, the old main building of Xiamen University. Mr. Sabendong was the president of Xiamen University from 1937 to 1945. In the difficult environment when War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out and our school moved to Changting, he led the teachers and students of the school to be angry and strive hard, and won the respect of all teachers and students with noble personality. Sabendong Cemetery is located behind Cheng Yi Building (? ), its construction was initiated by Xiamen University's alumni associations in the Philippines, Taiwan Province Province, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore on 1989, and later the alumni associations in Beijing, Shantou, Nanjing, Hefei, Wenzhou and Shanghai participated in the donation. The new building is built on the site of the old outpatient building that was demolished, and still follows the architectural features of Chen Jiageng.
