Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery of Southern Hospital was established in 1978, which is a key discipline of Southern Medical University (formerly the First Military Medical University), a research center for trauma treatment in Guangdong Province, and a talent training base for plastic surgery in South China. 1990 enrolled master students for the first time, and 1998 enrolled doctoral students for the first time. In 2000, it was established as a military burn plastic surgery center. In 2007, it was awarded the "National Key Discipline" by the Ministry of Education, and in 2008 it was certified as the first batch of "Plastic Surgery Training Base".
