The difference between ordinary colleges and universities
1. University refers to higher education institutions, including universities, colleges and independent colleges. They provide undergraduate and above education with the goal of cultivating high-quality professionals and research-oriented talents. Ordinary colleges and universities refer to other higher education institutions except key universities, mainly including vocational and technical colleges, undergraduate colleges and provincial universities. They also offer bachelor's degree or above, but pay more attention to practicality and application. The training goal is to transport applied talents with practical skills for the society.

2. The difference between universities mainly lies in their capital operation mechanism, management mode, school-running form and training objectives. Colleges and universities are usually supported by national or local finance, with abundant funds, strong teachers and complete teaching facilities, and attach importance to academic research and knowledge innovation; Ordinary colleges and universities, on the other hand, rely more on the support of social funds, with relatively less funds, pay more attention to practical teaching and skill training, and cultivate applied talents.

3. Provincial universities refer to universities founded or managed by provincial state institutions, which are generally affiliated to the Provincial Education Commission, and their funds are mainly allocated by local governments, and are not directly managed by the Ministry of Education. The difference between universities and colleges in ordinary colleges and universities lies mainly in their different disciplines and professional settings. Universities should have 3 or more disciplines as the main disciplines, and colleges should have/kloc-0 or more disciplines as the main disciplines.
