Tankook University is a private comprehensive university in Korea, located in Shuizhi District, Longren City. Founded in 1947, it is the first four-year private university established after the recovery of South Korea. February 1967 upgraded to a comprehensive university. The Tianan Campus, the first branch school in Korea, was established in 1978, and the Dental College and the Affiliated Hospital of Medical College were established in 1984 and 1994 respectively.

Tan Guo University has more than 30,000 students. Tankook University's school-building philosophy is "saving the country, independence and self-improvement", which originates from the spirit of Dangen, a character in Korean mythology, and also reflects the will of the two founders, that is, to build a prosperous and democratic country through education.

Tankook University has trained many famous Korean actors and singers, including Kim Jong Kook, Choo Ja Hyun and Zhi Changxu. It is a very famous university in Korea. In addition, Tan Guoji University has cooperative relations with many universities in China, such as Beijing Jiaotong University and Beijing University of Technology.

Tan Kuk University once hired director Zhang Yimou as a visiting professor to give lectures on film, literature, video and other aspects for students of Tan Kuk University, which promoted the contact and cooperation between Tan Kuk University and China, and was highly recognized in China.
