Zou Taofen, an outstanding journalist, politician and publisher; Cai E, an outstanding military strategist and patriotic general against Yuan Dynasty, includes Fu Lei and other famous translators. Since 1970s, it has been named "Shanghai Jiaotong University Children's Primary School", which is under the management of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Since September 2008 1, it has been renamed as "Primary School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University", which is under the Xuhui District Education Bureau.

The primary school affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University was originally a member school of UNESCO's EPD project, the experimental base of China Creative Society Education Committee, the experimental school of Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Education, and the experimental base of Shanghai Education Society's primary and secondary school mathematics teaching committee.

The school is currently under construction, and the new site is located in the north of Nandan Road and the west of Xu Hong North Road. The new school building covers an area of 10 mu, twice as much as the original one. It is expected to be completed before the end of 20 12.
