Nanjing University, referred to as Nantah, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and People's Republic of China (PRC). It is directly managed by the central government. It was ranked as a "double-class" key construction university in "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and was selected as "Everest Plan", "Strong Foundation Plan" and "65433".
Nanjing University can be traced back to Nanjing Imperial College in 258 AD. The modern history of Nanjing University began with Sanjiang Normal School founded by 1902, and was renamed Nanjing University on 1950 after the historical periods of Liangjiang Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University and National Central University.
1952, Nanjing University merged with the College of Arts and Sciences of Jinling University founded in 1888 and was still named Nanjing University. 1920, the "female ban" was the first in China's national colleges and universities, leading the trend of coeducation.
Scientific research achievements:
Nanjing University established the earliest modern scientific research laboratory in China. As of May 20 10, Nanjing University has won the first prize 1 item and the second prize 12 item of the National Natural Science Award, ranking first among mainland universities.
