School of Electrical Engineering of Xinjiang University was founded in 1953, and 1958 began to recruit undergraduate majors. It is one of the earliest colleges in Xinjiang University to offer engineering majors, and it is also the earliest school in Xinjiang to carry out higher engineering education. After more than 60 years of development, a complete system of teaching, scientific research and serving the society has been formed for undergraduate, master, doctor and postdoctoral students. It has formed a dominant discipline direction in the field of wind power control and grid-connected operation, and is in a leading position in China. In recent years, through the joint efforts of all teachers in our college, our college's scientific research ability and academic level have been continuously improved and remarkable achievements have been made.

In the "20 16 China University Electrical Engineering Discipline Ranking" officially released by China Alumni Association Network on 20 16/October 3 1 6, the electrical engineering discipline ranking of Xinjiang University is 15, plus the repeated ranking of 34, the discipline type is research-oriented and the school-running level is domestic.

In 20 17, the electrical engineering major in our college was successfully approved as a first-class doctoral program, and the electrical engineering discipline ranked C+ in the national discipline evaluation, ranking the top 40% in the country.
