Why is there not a "double-class" university in Jiangxi, which has the largest number of "academies" in past dynasties?
The goal of "double first-class" university construction is to build a world-class university. Jiangxi is one of more than a dozen areas without 985 colleges and universities in 1985. Now, in the era of "double first-class", there is still no "double first-class" university construction in Jiangxi.

Jiangxi is known as "a treasure of things, outstanding people and outstanding people". In the historical development, a large number of outstanding figures have appeared in Jiangxi: Tang Xianzu, Ouyang Xiu, Wen Tianxiang, Tao Yuanming, Yang Wanli, Huang Tingjian, Wang Anshi and Yan Shu. Historically, the education level in Jiangxi is very good. It can be seen from the number of "academies" in various regions of the past dynasties that the number of "academies" in Jiangxi was the largest in both the Song Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty, but in the Qing Dynasty, although the number of "academies" in Jiangxi ranked fourth, the total number was still very large. Ancient academies are unique educational institutions in China, so the number of ancient academies can reflect the education level in this area to some extent.

However, in contemporary Jiangxi, due to the backward economic and social development, the education level is also relatively backward, especially in the field of higher education, and a large number of talents are lost. When it comes to colleges and universities in Jiangxi, no famous school is a pain in the hearts of Jiangxi grandfathers. Not to mention ancient times, the higher education in Jiangxi during the Republic of China was not backward in the whole country. There are two established undergraduate universities, Nanchang University (formerly Zhongzheng University, which has little to do with Nanchang University now) and Jiangxi Medical College (formerly Zhongzheng Medical College, which has nothing to do with Jiangxi Medical College now, which is now the Third Military Medical University of the People's Liberation Army), and many specialized universities.

Lose two prestigious schools

In 1950s, Jiangxi Medical College moved to Chongqing, while most of Nanchang University was divided into more than ten key universities such as Wuda University, Huake University and Huashi University. Only the Agricultural College was first separated (now Jiangxi Agricultural University) and was not demolished. The former normal department of Nanchang University was originally prepared to move to Hunan, but it was later stopped. With the present Jiangxi Normal University, the Biology Department of the Education Department of the Normal University has been transferred to the present Nanchang University (formerly Jiangxi University). It can be said that if these two universities had not moved out, Jiangxi now has at least one top 20 "double-class" university.

Miss two famous schools

One is the University of Science and Technology of China. At first, because of "war preparedness evacuation", Henan and Hubei were first considered, but Henan was not enthusiastic about it and Hubei was unable to accept it. Later, Jiangxi and Anhui were considered, and Jiangxi made it clear that it would not accept it. However, the conditions in Anhui are not good, and China University of Science and Technology does not want to go. At that time, Anhui leaders took active actions to vacate the school buildings of Hefei Normal College and Bank Cadre School for the Chinese University of Science and Technology. Therefore, according to the history of China University of Science and Technology, it was originally planned to move south to Nanyang, Henan, and later changed to Anqing, Anhui. At the beginning, Henan and Jiangxi were unwilling to accept it, perhaps because they were afraid of squeezing out non-staple food rations, and now they all regret it.

The other is East China Jiaotong University (not now). The locomotive and rolling stock department of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the railway engineering major of Tongji University merged into Shanghai Railway Institute, and decided to move to Jiangxi and change its name to East China Jiaotong University. However, the school buildings were all built, and the former Shanghai Railway Institute was unwilling to move here. Now East China Jiaotong University uses its original name and address, but it is a local school, starting from scratch.

At present, although there is no first-class construction university in Jiangxi, there is only a first-class construction discipline of 1, but there are many other disciplines with strong strength in China, which I believe will develop better in the future. For example, the "Animal Husbandry" of Jiangxi Agricultural University, with an expert team of 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 national outstanding talents and 1 10,000 talents, has won national awards.
