The former site of the hospital was originally named Yangguan, Hangzhou, and was built after the Sino-Japanese War 1896. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hangzhou. 1954 Hospital established "Hangzhou Second Hospital" on the basis of "Gongshu District Public Outpatient Service", 1999 was listed as "Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Medical College" in February. In February of 20001year, Hangzhou Medical College was merged into Hangzhou Normal University, and the hospital was renamed as "Hangzhou Normal University". In July 2004, it became the clinical medical college of Hangzhou Normal University and the affiliated hospital of Hangzhou Normal University. 20 1 1 was rated as "Grade III A General Hospital" by Zhejiang Provincial Health Department.

The hospitals are state-level baby-friendly hospitals, emergency center network hospitals of the Ministry of Health, designated hospitals for medical insurance in Zhejiang and Hangzhou, designated hospitals for agricultural insurance in Poyang County, Jiangxi Province, designated hospitals for tuberculosis treatment in Hangzhou, and joint training units for graduate students of Dalian Medical University. Medical quality and academic centers such as Hangzhou Cardiovascular Institute, Hangzhou Oral Medical Quality Control Center, Hangzhou Hospital Medical Record Quality Control Center, Hangzhou Normal University Cognitive and Brain Disease Research Center and Aging Research Center, and Hangzhou First Aid Center Chengbei First Aid Station are located in the hospital.

The hospital is located on the bank of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, east of Chen Gong Bridge, covering an area of 66 mu. The hospital is surrounded by trees and groups of ancient camphor trees. Modern architecture and historical sites complement each other. This is an elegant garden hospital.
