The former site of Honglou and Jingfu Academy of Anhui University is located at No.28/KLOC-0, Linghu South Road, Daguan District, Anqing City, in Linghu Campus of Anqing Normal University. The Red Building of Anhui University was completed in July 1934 and in September 1935. Originally the main teaching building of Anhui University in the Republic of China, it was named Anda Red Building with a total construction area of 3,008 square meters. The former site of Jingfu Academy was built in the 23rd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1897). It is an east-west architectural complex in the Qing Dynasty, with existing gates, corridors and dormitories. Anda Red Mansion is a two-story brick-wood structure, facing south, with red pottery tiles and red brick exterior walls at the top of the slope, and the plane is in the shape of an inverted mountain. The main entrance is located in the middle, with a bell tower and a western-style mountain gate square, which are beautifully carved. Jingfu Academy is built in Huizhou style, with brick and wood structure, with the corridor as the central axis and the lecture hall at the eastern end of the corridor. 1983 demolition. On both sides of the lecture hall are Zheng Jingting and Zongru Temple, which were bombed by the Japanese in the early days of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The existing gatehouse, promenade and four-way house have a total construction area of 937 square meters. In the Qing Dynasty, Anhui Xuejingfu Academy moved from the urban area to run schools here. It is the largest and longest-running official academy in Anhui in Qing Dynasty. Soon, it was transformed into Anhui University Hall, Anhui University, Anhui Military Equipment School and Anhui Institute of Public Law. From 1927 to 1938, Anhui Provincial University was established here. 1946, National Anhui University was established.
The former sites of Honglou and Jingfu Academy of Anhui University witnessed the development and evolution of Anhui higher education in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, which is of symbolic significance in the history of Anhui higher education.
