Anhui Art Vocational College is a provincial full-time comprehensive art college with a long history. Its predecessor, Anhui Art School, was founded in 1956. 1996 Anhui Art School and Anhui University jointly established Anhui University Art College, and began to recruit undergraduate and junior college students. In June, 2003, with the approval of Anhui Provincial People's Government, Anhui Film Academy merged and established Anhui Art Vocational College. Since its establishment more than 60 years ago, the college has shouldered the heavy responsibility of inheriting and carrying forward excellent culture and art and cultivating art professionals. It is rooted in Anhui's rich cultural soil, has nurtured its own school-running traditions and characteristics, and has become the base for cultivating cultural and artistic talents in Anhui.
At present, the college has two campuses, Xuancheng Road and Danxia Road. Students are divided into four levels: undergraduate, junior college, higher vocational and technical secondary school.
