Hangzhou Normal University (hereinafter referred to as Hangzhou Normal University) is a key construction university in Zhejiang Province and a key supporting university in Hangzhou organized by Hangzhou Municipal People's Government. The school's predecessor can be traced back to Zhejiang official secondary normal school, one of the six higher normal schools in China, which was founded in 1908. Hangzhou Normal University was founded in 1978. Around 2000, Hangzhou Education College and other five schools merged, and in 2007 it was renamed Hangzhou Normal University.
