From 65438 to 0952, under the influence of the Soviet education system, the China government adjusted colleges and universities, split a number of comprehensive universities with a long history and academic influence, and established a number of colleges and universities with specialized disciplines as the mainstay, thus establishing a higher education system divided by professional disciplines. Among them, eight schools, including Beijing Medical College, Beijing Aviation Institute, Beijing Institute of Geology, Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel, Beijing Petroleum Institute, Beijing Forestry College, Beijing Agricultural Machinery College and China Institute of Mining, are located on the college road specially planned for universities in Haidian District, Beijing.
