Jimei University is a provincial multi-disciplinary university in Fujian Province, a provincial key construction university, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport and Fujian Province, a doctoral degree awarding unit, and enrolls students nationwide.

Jimei University has a long history of running a school. The school started from Jimei Normal School founded by Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader, in 19 18. It has been running for more than 90 years, and its motto "Cheng Yi" was established by Mr. Chen Jiageng and his brother Mr. Chen Jingxian. 65438-0994, Jimei University was founded on the basis of five universities: Jimei Navigation College, Xiamen Fisheries College, Fujian Institute of Physical Education, Jimei Finance and Economics College and Jimei Normal College.
