Shenyang University of Technology is located in Shenyang, a modern central city in the northeast of China. It is a multi-disciplinary teaching and research university focusing on engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law and philosophy. The school was founded on 1949. On 1985, it was renamed as Shenyang University of Technology from Shenyang Institute of Electromechanical Technology. It was originally an institution under the Ministry of Machinery Industry. Starting from 1998, it was established by the central and local governments and mainly managed by Liaoning Province.
The school consists of four campuses: the central campus in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, Xingshun campus, National University Science Park and Hongwei campus in Liaoyang, Liaoning Province. The central campus (main campus) is located in the national economic and technological development zone where the equipment manufacturing industry gathers.
