Through hard work, the College of Political Science and Law has become an important base for training teachers of ideological and political theory courses, cadres of party and government organs and legal professionals in Shanxi Province. By 2009, the School of Political Science and Law has trained nearly 10500 talents for the society, including Feng from China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, Dr. Yang Haijiao from China Academy of Social Sciences and other well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad and leading cadres of party and government organs. For example, Geng Liang, Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, Zhang Kai, Chairman of Shanghai Securities Regulatory Commission, Vice Minister of Organization Department of Shanxi Provincial Committee, Zhang Maocai, Secretary of Jincheng Municipal Committee of Shanxi Province, Zhang Keqiang, Deputy Secretary of Linfen Municipal Committee, and other leaders of education administrative departments and institutions of higher learning, such as Qin Liangyu, Secretary of Party Committee of Shanxi University, Li, Dean of Changzhi College, Gao Guoshun, Director of Health Department and Secretary of Party Committee, and President of Datong University of Shanxi Province. In addition, there are a number of primary and secondary school principals and special teachers. Especially in recent years, batch after batch of graduates have been admitted to famous universities in China for further study. In the 1990s, college students won the championship for three consecutive years in the province's youth league cadres and female cadres selection examinations. The signing rate of fresh graduates is as high as over 95%.
In terms of college system, there are currently two departments and three research institutes. The two departments are the Department of Ideological and Political Education and the Department of Law; The three institutes are the Institute of Marxist Theory and Ideological and Political Education, the Institute of Sociology and the Institute of Comparative Law.
At the level of running a school, there are three levels: junior college, undergraduate and master. Among them, there are two majors at the undergraduate level: ideological and political education and law; At the postgraduate level, there are eight master's degree authorization points: the first-class discipline of Marxist theory and basic principles, the history of Marxist development, the study of Marxism in China, the study of Marxism abroad, ideological and political education, political science theory, sociology and curriculum and teaching theory (ideological and political education).
In terms of teaching staff, the college has 45 professional teachers. Young teachers are becoming doctors.
In recent years, teachers of the College of Political Science and Law have successively presided over 3 national social science fund projects, 2 international exchange projects and more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects, and published nearly 300 papers and more than 30 academic monographs in core academic journals such as China Social Sciences, Party Literature and Political Studies, forming a number of landmark scientific research achievements and winning the first and second prizes for outstanding achievements in social sciences in Shanxi Province for many times.
