The discipline of Geological Engineering in Shandong University of Science and Technology is the key discipline in the 11th Five-Year Plan of Shandong Province. It has a history of more than forty years. After several generations of efforts, it has become one of the strong disciplines of Shandong University of Science and Technology. After years of development, this discipline has formed three research directions with obvious advantages: ① Geological disaster prediction theory and prevention technology: around the mechanism and prediction theory of mine water inrush, around the hydrogeological problems of mine development, the mechanism and prediction of mine water disaster, water disaster monitoring and mining safety evaluation, etc. , and achieved important influence at home and abroad, the domestic leading level of research results; (2) Exploration and evaluation of mineral resources: the study of coal exploration and coal accumulation law has made outstanding contributions to the exploration of coal resources in China, especially to the exploration and development of shandong energy; ③ Water environmental geological exploration and evaluation: focusing on engineering geological exploration techniques and methods, engineering geological conditions evaluation, water environmental geology, mineral resources exploitation and ecological geological environment, and regional geological environment stability, some influential research results have been achieved. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, this discipline undertook 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 6 special projects of the National 973 Plan, scientific and technological key projects 1 1 by the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources, the Department of Finance and the Science and Technology, and more than one cooperation project 100. Research funding is more than 46 million yuan; It has achieved a number of achievements that have surpassed the advanced level at home and abroad, won the provincial and ministerial scientific research and teaching award 1 1, published 8 monographs and teaching materials, and published more than 260 academic papers, of which more than 60 were included by SCI, EI and ISTP. After more than 40 years' development, the discipline has formed a platform for cultivating talents at all levels, such as doctors, graduate students and undergraduates, and trained more than 6,000 earth scientists at all levels. In recent years, to meet the needs of society and adjust the training direction in time, the annual undergraduate employment rate has remained above 95%.
