Introduction to Pyongyang:
Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is officially called "Pinglin Special City". It is located at the junction of the Pyongyang Plain and the hills in the lower reaches of the Datong River, with rolling mountains in the east, west and north. Pyongyang is called Pyongyang because part of its land is on the plain, which means "leveling the soil". Datong River and its tributaries flow through the urban area, and there are Lingluo Island, Yangjiao Island, Beaver Island and other islands in the river with beautiful scenery. Urban construction area accounts for 20%, and the remaining 80% is green space such as parks, making it one of the cities with the largest proportion of green space in the world. The per capita green area in Pyongyang is about 50 square meters. The city is full of pine trees, cypresses, flower beds and lawns. The beautiful natural scenery makes Pyongyang a garden city.
Pyongyang is an ancient historical city with a written history of over 3,000 years. According to legend, it was designated as the capital city during the Dangong period. Pyongyang is also a modern city with beautiful scenery. Datong River passes through the city, and the green willows on both sides are shaded. Ma Qianli Street, Cangguang Street, Guangfu Street and Unify Street are wide and tidy, with heavy shadows on both sides. Koryo Hotel, Renmin University Learning Hall, Wanshoutai Art Theatre and other buildings are scattered in the urban area of Pyongyang.
Pyongyang is the political, economic and cultural center of North Korea and the revolutionary heart in the eyes of the Korean people. Pyongyang's post-war industry has developed rapidly and has become the industrial center of North Korea. There are hundreds of primary and secondary schools in Pyongyang, as well as universities and research institutions such as Kim Il Sung University and Jin Ce University of Science and Technology.
Pyongyang is a tourist attraction. Datong River divides Pyongyang into two parts, and Datong Bridge and Liuyu Bridge connect East and West Pyongyang into one. Located in the center of Datong River, the 64-story hotel building on Lingluo Island has dense trees and blooming flowers, adding a new look to the city scenery. There are many places of interest in the mountains around Pyongyang, and the ruins of Koguryo Ancient City and Anhe Palace are preserved on Dacheng Mountain in the northeast of the city. There are also many places of interest in Pyongyang on the Peony Peak in the north of the city. Among them, the China-China Friendship Tower, built of granite on the north side of the mountain, is frequented by Korean friends, and the list of Chinese people's Volunteer Army martyrs who died in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea is kept in the Friendship Tower.
