Xihua university, abbreviated as xihua university, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China. It has been selected into the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, excellent universities with undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of demonstration universities in Sichuan Province to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Xihua university was founded in 1960 as Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, 1972 was renamed as Chengdu Agricultural Machinery College, and 1983 was renamed as Sichuan Institute of Technology. In 2003, Sichuan University of Technology and chengdu normal university merged to form xihua university. In 2008, Sichuan Economic Management Cadre College merged.
