Hu Lishan fort
Hu Lishan Fort is located on the coast of Hu Lishan in the southwest of Xiamen Island. It was built in the 17th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (189 1). It took five years to build the fort. The foundation of the stockade wall is made of black camphor tree juice, lime, glutinous rice and sediment. The most famous gun on the battery was a giant gun purchased from Krupp Arsenal in Germany.
