Legal basis: Article 10 of the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). The Ministry of National Defense, under the leadership of the State Council and the Central Military Commission (CMC), is responsible for national military service. According to the tasks entrusted by the Ministry of National Defense, each military region is responsible for military service in its own region.
