Harbin Institute of Technology is a secret university. Harbin Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as Harbin Institute of Technology) is affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which focuses on science and engineering, with the coordinated development of science and engineering management, literature, economics, law and art, and has three campuses in Harbin, Weihai and Shenzhen.

The school was founded on 1920. 195 1 was identified as one of the two model universities in China to learn from foreign higher education. 1954 entered the ranks of the first batch of six key universities in China and was once known as the cradle of engineers. 1996, the school entered the first batch of key construction universities in the national "21project", and 1999 was identified as one of the first nine universities in the national "985 project". In 2000, it merged with Harbin Jianzhu University to form a new Harbin Institute of Technology, and 20 17 was selected.
