1. Tibet University for Nationalities is located in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is the first batch of units approved by the State Council with the right to award bachelor's degrees. It is a university founded by the People's Government of Xizang Autonomous Region and the State Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs. It is also recognized by the State Education Bureau. The first phase of the basic capacity building project for universities in the central and western regions was selected for universities, and East China Normal University provided counterpart support to universities.
2. The College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Tibet University is located in Bayi Town, Linzhi City. It is the only high-tech agricultural college in Xizang Autonomous Region that integrates agriculture, engineering, science and management, and has the right to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The College was founded in 1972, formerly known as Linzhi Branch of Tibet University for Nationalities. In 1978, it was named College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Tibet University with the approval of the State Council, becoming a second-class college.
3. Tibet Tibetan Medical University, located in Lhasa, Xizang Autonomous Region, is an institution of higher learning of traditional ethnic medicine. It is the only Tibetan medical institution approved by the Ministry of Education. It was founded by Xizang Autonomous Region Municipal People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine and recognized by the state.
