English name: University of Florida. Short for UFIDA, also known as UFL.
As one of the largest research universities in the United States, the University of Florida is famous for its diversified academic education. It is also the oldest and largest public university in Florida, known as the "Public Ivy League" and one of the famous members of association of american universities.
1906 merged with Florida Agricultural College and officially changed its name to Florida University. At this time, Florida College was formally established.
The field of students' gender also has a history. From 1906- 1946, the school only taught boys for forty years, and it was not until 1947 that girls were admitted.
