Nanjing University, referred to as "Nanda", is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Ranked among the national "double first-class", "985 Project" and "21project" key construction universities, and selected into "Everest Plan" and "0 Project".

"11/plan" and "20 1 1 plan" are nine-school alliance (C9), China University Presidents Association, Pacific Rim University Alliance, 2 1 Century Academic Alliance, Global Alliance for Advanced Research in Universities, and so on.

In the current ranking of soft science universities in 2022, Nanjing University ranks sixth in the country and Southeast University ranks in the top 20. The status of two universities in Jiangsu Province is unshakable and they are in the first echelon. Nanjing University of Science and Technology ranked 33rd, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics ranked 37th, Suzhou University ranked 43rd and Nanjing Agricultural University ranked 49th. These four universities have all entered the top 50 of China University and are in the second echelon.

China University of Mining and Technology ranks 54th, Nanjing Medical University 54th, Jiangnan University 59th, Hohai University 60th, Nanjing Normal University 6 1, Jiangsu University 73rd, Yangzhou University 79th, Nanjing Institute of Technology 84th, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications 84th, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology 97th and China Pharmaceutical University 97th. The above nine universities rank among the top universities in China 100, and are in the third echelon.
