Zhejiang University, referred to as "Zhejiang University" for short, is a vice-ministerial system directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Ranked in the first batch of "2 1 1 project", "985 project", "world-class universities and first-class disciplines", nine university alliances (C9), Pacific Rim University Alliance, World University Alliance and international applied science and technology development.
Members of International New Engineering Education Alliance, Global Energy Internet University Alliance, CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, and Medical "Double First-class" Construction Alliance were selected for Everest Plan, 20 1 1 Plan, Academic Innovation Introduction Plan, Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan, Excellent Legal Talents Education and Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan.
China government scholarship for overseas students, national postgraduate program for building high-level universities, and the first batch of national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform are among the earliest new institutions of higher learning established by China people themselves. They are a comprehensive national key university, which was once called "Oriental Cambridge" by Joseph Needham, a famous British scholar.
The school was formerly Qiushi College, which was founded in 1897 and named as National Zhejiang University in 1928. 1937 Zhejiang university moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan, Guizhou, and 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn.
From 65438 to 0952, some departments of Zhejiang University were placed under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities, and the main part was reorganized into several universities in Hangzhou, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.
In the course of running a school for more than 20 years, the school has always adhered to the fine tradition of "being realistic and innovative" as its motto, and gradually formed the spirit of Zhejiang University, which is "diligent in studying Xiu De, discerning and being honest", "embracing all rivers, enlightening the truth, cherishing virtues, opening up the people and building the motherland".
