Zhejiang University of Science and Technology is a full-time undergraduate college in Zhejiang Province. It is an application-oriented provincial undergraduate college with distinctive characteristics. It has the right to award master's and bachelor's degrees and the right to recruit foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The main campus is located in Xiaoheshan Higher Education Park, Xihu District, Hangzhou, and the sub-campus is located in Anji Education and Culture New District. It is the first batch of pilot universities of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" by the Ministry of Education, the first batch of selected units of "New Engineering Research and Practice Project" by the Ministry of Education, and the construction unit of "Zhejiang International University".

The school, formerly known as Hangzhou Institute of Technology affiliated to Zhejiang University, was established in 1980. It experienced the development stages of Hangzhou College affiliated to Zhejiang University and Hangzhou College of Applied Engineering and Technology, and was renamed Zhejiang Institute of Science and Technology in August 20001year.

On June 5438- 10, 2003, Zhejiang Light Industry School was incorporated. 2023165438+1October 30th, the Ministry of Education sent a letter agreeing that Zhejiang University of Science and Technology should be renamed as Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. As of July 2023, the school has two campuses. Xiaoheshan Campus is located in Xiaoheshan Higher Education Park, Xihu District, Hangzhou, with an area of 1.900 mu and a construction area of 470,000 square meters.

Anji Campus is located in Anji, Huzhou, with an area of 1000 mu and a building area of 17000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is about 500 million yuan, and there are more than 90,000 paper books/KLOC-0. Secondary colleges 17, teaching departments 1, and 57 undergraduate majors. There are 6 academic master's degree authorized first-class disciplines and 8 master's degree authorized points.
