Xiaoxiang College of Hunan University of Science and Technology is a full-time undergraduate independent college sponsored by Hunan University of Science and Technology, approved by Hunan Provincial People's Government and confirmed by the Ministry of Education.

As of June, 20021,the college covers an area of 688 mu, with 4 departments,1/teaching department, 3 public teaching units and 5,647 students. There are 20 undergraduate enrollment majors.

By June, 20 17, the college had carried out reform and innovation relying on the superior disciplines of its alma mater, Hunan University of Science and Technology. Based on the existing national, provincial and university-level key construction majors of Hunan University of Science and Technology, the college has set up four departments, including electromechanical, folk art, economy, humanities, social science and sports, and 12 teaching department.
