The construction of Dushu Lake Campus is an important strategic decision made by the Party Committee of Suzhou University after repeated investigation and demonstration. The first phase of the new campus covers an area of 890 mu, with a construction area of about 350,000 square meters.

Since the official start of construction in March 2004, it took more than two years to become what it is today with the hard work of the new campus construction headquarters and the concerted efforts of Qi Xin of various departments. The second phase of the new campus covers an area of 640 mu, and the construction work is being started.
