The Cultural Tradition of Hokkaido University
Source of School Emblem Design: The school emblem of Hokkaido University is designed according to the shape of wild trillium grandiflora (a perennial herb) on the campus of Hokkaido University. 1950, the school publicly solicited the design of the school logo. On the basis of the selected works, it was revised at the celebration of 1996 school 120. 1September 1996 officially decided to use it as the school emblem.

Design meaning: Petals pointing in six directions (east, south, west, north, sky and earth) symbolize that Hokkaido University is transmitting information to Japan and the world. Communication Logo (130th Anniversary Logo) Design Purpose: Hokkaido University designed this communication logo in 2006. As an original work of the school, the logo is mainly used to actively publicize the characteristics of the school. The logo was designed by a famous visual designer, Mr. Sato Zhuo, who designed many excellent works.

Design implication: In 2006, the school/KLOC-0 celebrated its 30th anniversary. The logo takes the geographical location of Hokkaido University as the center and the trajectory formed by the rotation of the map of Hokkaido 130 degrees as the pattern, in which the rotation represents the idea and the rotation trajectory represents the knowledge.
