Harbin university of science and technology is the largest university of science and engineering in Heilongjiang Province. It was formed by the merger of harbin university of science and technology, Harbin Institute of Electrical Engineering and Harbin Institute of Technology under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry on 1995. 1998 was placed in Heilongjiang province, and the territorial management system was implemented. All three schools were established in the 1950s. After more than half a century's development, the school has now become a teaching and research university with strong school-running strength and distinctive characteristics, integrating engineering and science, economics, management, philosophy, literature, law and education. In 2003, it was rated as an "excellent school for undergraduate teaching level evaluation" by the Ministry of Education.
