Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is a high-level university in Shanghai, a national "double-class" university, a founding member of the World First-class Chinese Medicine University Construction Alliance and the Yangtze River Delta Medical Education Alliance, a pilot unit for the construction of high-level local universities in Shanghai, the first batch of traditional medicine cooperation centers of the World Health Organization, and the seat of the secretariat of the Chinese Medicine Standards and Technology Committee of the International Organization for Standardization. Founded in 1956, the school is one of the first universities of traditional Chinese medicine in China after the founding of New China. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation results, Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine and Chinese medicine ranked first in the country, all of which achieved excellent results of A+, making them the only three A+ universities in the country.
