Inner Mongolia Medical University is not bad. It is a university approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the National Health and Wellness Commission of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Education. It is also a pilot university of the "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program" and an engineering university of basic capacity building in universities in the central and western regions.

The school was founded in 1956, formerly known as Inner Mongolia Medical College. It is one of the earliest medical colleges established in minority areas in New China. At that time, it was under the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and was placed under the management of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 1958. On March 20 12, it was renamed Inner Mongolia Medical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
