When I finished reading Taking the Waterway, I decided to buy this book-Working People.

"Working Man" recorded a circle that I never tried to understand. A person's life experience or understanding of things is really limited. Many writers write about life in one way or another, so that we can observe and appreciate the cool thin and warmth of human nature in the book. But most authors can only observe the ups and downs of various industries for a short time. Only those who stand in their own position can take their own experiences, feelings and prejudices without the perspective of God. Therefore, we need writers from all walks of life like Liqing Lin to truly record the culture and life of different industries.

I often meet workers in my life, but they are still a vague group to me. The workers I see are either busy with high-intensity physical labor on scaffolding or wearing gray-gray blue tooling in the subway, sometimes carrying a big bag or a bucket of tools. Together, the three of them stand out in the crowd, but they are most easily overlooked by everyone.

I have never thought about and have no ability to deeply contact or care about the circle culture and life experience of this group. I don't have their language system, all-inclusive affinity, and I don't know how to communicate with people with completely different experiences. But this is the charm of this book. It can give you an opportunity to break through your own limitations, get to know those people around you who you can see but don't often contact, help you see the life you have never experienced, and make you look at the world more openly.

This is the case with The Craftsman, written by Liqing Lin, a supervisor who has worked on the construction site for ten years. People who work are those who meet bricklayers and porters at work. These people are ignored by the mainstream media, but they are companions and friends with stories around them.

We are always surrounded by the general concepts of "middle class", "petty bourgeoisie", "rich second generation" and "poor people", and the eyes of the crowd and the media mostly follow the flow of capital. Few people explain their less "shiny" life circle for these workers who have lost their voice in the Internet age because of the lack of culture and education. Therefore, when they learned that Liqing Lin was writing a book about them, a master would come to him and say, "Come and ask me, and I will tell you everything." . Yes, that's because they are flesh and blood, piled up with love and responsibility, but no one cares about life. Because of this, books like The Worker and people like Liqing Lin are becoming more and more valuable.

A Qin takes drugs.

In other words, he can only take drugs.

A Qin is a steel worker. The whole family used to be ironworkers who installed small tin houses. People commonly call it the "iron building".

However, since A Qin's father, their signboard has turned white. In fact, they can no longer make iron. Since mainland steel products were sold back to Taiwan Province at low prices, the iron works in Taiwan Province Province have been dying. There is also a scale, looking for designers and architects to grab food downstream, and new houses or renovations in urban areas are taken away by this form. Small iron works like A Qin can only repair old roofs.

Brother chin is fine. When my father was still alive, the result of sending them to vocational training was that they were qualified as welders. I can't take cases, but at least I'm a professional.

According to the traditional custom in Taiwan Province Province, one of the two brothers will stay at home in case their parents are left unattended. Brother Qi stayed in Changhua, and A Qin went to Yunlin's large industrial zone to weld iron pipes and white iron pipes with temporary factories of several contractors.

Welders have a professional life limit. The first is the aging of the eyes. Workers engaged in electric welding must wear colored lenses within a few years. Then there is night blindness. Just a few days into the business, you can feel as if there is sand between your eyes and eyelids; In a few years, eyes will be as uncomfortable as stones. Recurrent ophthalmia also forced welders to choose between work and rest. But if you don't do it, you won't have money. That's what Seven did. He had to retire after being completely blind.

Followed by rotten lungs. The job of electric welding is to burn metal at high temperature. The exhaust gas from metal melting will make the lungs fibrotic, and the cold welding workers will be out of breath in the weather, even if they bring bronchodilators, they may not be able to hold on. It is often said that outdoor welders are dizzy, which is the reason. These toxic gases have caused lung injury and even nerve injury to workers, and because the welder's workspace often has to squat down and climb up, the integrity of the solder joint position can be achieved only by maintaining the same posture, and the lack of blood circulation makes these diseases more serious. Welders' faces and hands often peel off badly, like snakes crawling on them, because of high temperature burns. ?

Their old father left in a hurry. After he fell, he died in the hospital a week later, saying that it was blood poisoning and his heart and lungs were completely destroyed. At that time, leaf membrane (artificial lung) intubation was not popular in Taiwan Province province.

A Qin started using amphetamines after he entered the factory. Tobacco, alcohol and betel nut are not allowed in this factory, and alcohol test is required before entering the factory, but drug abuse is difficult to test.

After he was inhaled, his work was like God's help. The biggest function of the medicine is to make people forget the acid, numbness, itching and sultry, so he can bear the protective gear that fully meets the security inspection, and he has no pain, heat resistance and load-bearing ability, and his eyes are not painful. He never feels dizzy after standing for a long time.

The sequela of drug abuse is that you can only concentrate on one thing, which is in line with the nature of A Qin's work. His welds are beautiful and thin, piled up like fish scales. Compared with other masters' sludge in detail, every solder joint is clean and beautiful, and indoor argon arc welding is lavender arc. These finished products are photographed in the factory and printed out as acceptance criteria. People in the factory say that he is a first-class excellent master, with many welds and definite movements, and he hardly needs to get up and rest.

But it also aroused the envy of other teachers. Other welding workers in the factory rarely have the same skills as A Qin, and because he doesn't fit in, people say behind his back that he makes life difficult for everyone. Then he began to say that he was taking drugs, but it brought protection-the engineers in the factory thought these were pure slander. After all, A Qin's work is much better than others. Those highly educated engineers always say, "You suck!"

This factory needs to make a list of pipes every year, and the control of personnel and machinery is extremely strict. Because Accica died as a welder, all the welders who entered the site had to pass all kinds of examinations before they could enter the site. Now these qualifications are much more difficult than when A Qin took the exam. For some unimportant parts, the factory even brought in foreign workers to help with welding. A Qin is very friendly to foreign workers who are not fluent in these languages. In his mind, with such technology, he is not afraid of being bullied, and the factory is willing to send a migrant worker by his side.

He is also a master who combines the certificates of several people and works on the spot. Some foreign contractors with mechanical failure or equipment damage can only look for him. Finding new people is undoubtedly a big trouble for these engineers and needs to be audited. Welding machines, generators, argon arc welding machines and gas cylinders in A Qin are certified every year, and they are used as labor inspection standards in factories. Even in the sweeping area, he has a separate compartment and charging socket. In this way, it is convenient for people in the factory to find him, and he is happy not to take the equipment.

He carries the invoice of his hometown factory with him, and the maintenance and installation in the factory can be invoiced at any time. In addition, his daily salary is 4,000 yuan, and his overtime at night is doubled. His monthly income is about100000, which is enough to pay for his medicine for one month 12000, plus once a week. Taking advantage of Sunday's rest and driving a pickup truck back to his hometown in Changhua, facing his brother and sister-in-law, he didn't know what to do, so he could only give more money in exchange for peace at home.

My brother, Qi, has a decent life in his hometown in Changhua. After all, the word-of-mouth accumulated by two generations makes him earn 40,000 to 50,000 yuan a month by repairing roofs and signboards, although he doesn't go to work every day.

But the July 1st family began to get restless. If he accepts this case, all the work of taking care of his old mother will fall on his wife; But if you don't take this case, there is no income at all. Chin knows that sister-in-law is tired. Both children are studying in universities in other places. My mother-in-law has had a stroke for three years, but the old man's health is getting worse and worse, which makes her sister-in-law lose patience with her husband gradually. Every time, A Qin can only go home to see her mother and give money. After a while, he always forced his eldest sister-in-law to accept it. Then he went back to the factory to continue his work and bought Ann when he was very tired. ?

Mother left in the fourth year after the stroke. Unexpectedly, after the funeral, my brother and sister-in-law blamed each other for the old man's dying scabies and swore at each other. Finally, they fought and divorced. Sister-in-law was so angry that she went north to find her daughter and sent back the divorce agreement. The couple are deadlocked, and no one will let anyone.

A month later, during the typhoon season, Qi was hired to weld the roof panel on the tin house next to the temple, and suddenly he fell down silently. After being rushed to the hospital, it was confirmed that it was a stroke-the lower body, right hand and eyes were useless. By the time A Qin came back, my sister-in-law had gone home to take care of Qi with her children. A Qin still had to put the money in, but the eldest sister-in-law was very polite to him at this time. ?

The whole family knows it can't be better.

Seven o the whole body pain broke out at this time, only one eye is useful during the day. He thought about suicide and tried to hold his breath with a pillow to see if he could die like this, but he couldn't help screaming and slapping his wife around him every time. Both feet were useless, and the welder squatted for a long time, so that Ah Qi could no longer control his lower body. Every time his wife changed his diaper, he began to nag and spoil himself, not wanting his children to see him. Only under the pain, human dignity is knocked down again and again, even if you swallow painkillers every day, it is still painful. He scolded his wife for trifles, and woke up at night when he dreamed of scabies, but he was even more painful because he saw his wife's helpless eyes. He is getting thinner and thinner.

During the Spring Festival, A Qin went home, thinking about wrapping a big bag for his brother and sister-in-law, and asked his nieces and nephews about their tuition, miscellaneous expenses and living expenses, so as to see if he could help.

The two brothers finally had a chance to talk in private, and no one else was present. My brother took this opportunity to hold A Qin's hand with his only left hand and slowly squeeze out a request ... His left eye was still crying.

Jean was frightened and didn't come back for two months.

When he came back, he talked with his brother for a longer time.

My brother's son is going to retire, my daughter will graduate in a few days, and my wife has taken care of her mother for four years. He should stop dragging his family down. He said that while his labor insurance is still there, his life insurance is still being paid, so solve it quickly.

At some point, the two brothers could only cry.

A Qin said to his brother, "Please wait for me."

Every other week, my sister-in-law will go north for two days to attend her daughter's graduation ceremony, and A Qin will come back to take care of her brother. He took his younger brother to the palace temple and drove him to see the places where the two brothers had been before.

The next morning, he took out the needles and two injection bottles. This cost a total of * * * eighty thousand.

My brother smiled and thanked Xie Wan, but he wept bitterly at his brother.

All 40 thousand dollars went into my brother's body. The two brothers are holding hands. Ah Qi kept blessing his younger brother, and the two brothers sobbed. Then, seven's voice became smaller and smaller.

There was a smile on his face and no response.

Seven didn't go to the hospital because the two brothers agreed. The people in the temple went directly to the funeral home. After the wife and daughter came home, the neighbor said that Ah Qi was blessed and died at home. I think he stayed until his daughter graduated and left without attachments. His serene face is like a living fairy.

But Achin broke his promise. He didn't accept the inheritance promised to his brother. He asked his sister-in-law to rent all the houses, and he also paid for his brother's funeral.

A Qin returned to the factory to continue his work. Only during the Chinese New Year will he go back to give red envelopes to his nieces and nephews and visit his parents and brother.

He left himself a needle in his ancestral grave.

The Craftsman is an irreplaceable work. The title page of the book reads: "If there are similarities, please lament rather than rejoice". Liqing Lin said that this sentence means that even if you see the truth from these stories, even if you know the hardships of people who work, don't be happy. Because, "it's not worth being happy, and I don't feel happy."
