The Historical Evolution of Fujian Normal University Library
The establishment and development of Fujian Normal University Library are basically in step with Fujian Normal University. Its collection history can be traced back to 1907, which established Fujian Excellent Normal School. It has collected the collections of several predecessor schools such as Fujian Christian University and South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the private collection of the first principal Chen. 195 1 year, Fujian Christian University, private South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, Fujian Normal University and Fujian College merged to form Fuzhou University, and then the libraries (rooms) of the previous schools were incorporated into the library of Fuzhou University, with a total collection of more than 300,000 volumes. 1953 With the change of the school name, the library was renamed Fujian Normal University Library. 1970, Fujian Normal University was closed due to the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, and more than 900,000 books and periodicals in the library were sealed as a whole. 1972, the school reopened, and the library was renamed Fujian Normal University Library with the school. Professor Zhou Gucheng, the late Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and a famous historian, wrote the name of the museum. Cangshan Campus Library was built in 199 1, and Qishan Campus Library was officially opened in May 2006. From 1982 to 20 13, this museum has always been the seat of the secretariat of the working Committee of university libraries in Fujian Province.
