Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1938, formerly known as Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. 1999 was upgraded by the Singapore government to be equivalent to the government polytechnic, and was subsidized by the Ministry of Education. Today, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts has developed into an art school with 1600 full-time students and 3,000 part-time students, with complete professional categories.
Nanyang Art Institute is a recognized art institution at home and abroad and enjoys a high reputation in the world. It is also an institution of higher learning for graduates to continue their studies. Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts has three new school buildings: Administration Building and Visual Arts School, Fashion Institute, Performing Arts School and Children's Art School.

A major feature of Nanyi dance teaching is that it is based in Southeast Asia, while maintaining contact and interaction with a wide range of communities, disciplines and cultures. The course content of Nanyi focuses on practice and application, and integrates Asian and western viewpoints.
