General situation of animal medicine specialty:

Trial teaching

Including teaching practice, production practice, curriculum design, graduation thesis (graduation design), scientific research training, productive labor, social practice and so on. Generally, it takes 35 to 40 weeks.

Training objectives

This major trains senior scientific and technological talents with basic theories, knowledge and skills of animal medicine, who can engage in veterinary work, epidemic prevention and quarantine, teaching and scientific research in veterinary business departments, animal production units and related departments.

Training requirements

Students in this major mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of basic animal medicine, preventive medicine and clinical medicine, cultivate the techniques of animal normal and abnormal structure and function experiment, examination, disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and have the basic abilities of animal health care, clinical diagnosis and treatment, animal epidemic prevention and quarantine and veterinary health management.

Employment direction

1. Have solid basic theoretical knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and life sciences;

2. Master the basic theories of animal basic medicine, preventive medicine and clinical medicine, the pathogenic factors, the occurrence, development and prognosis of diseases, and the basic knowledge of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and animal husbandry science;

3 with the analysis and inspection of pathogenic factors, the correct use and development of drugs, routine and instrumental diagnosis, main treatment methods and animal quarantine skills;

4. Have the awareness and basic knowledge of agricultural sustainable development, understand the frontier and development trend of life science and animal medicine, and the application prospect of related technologies in natural science;

5 familiar with the national animal production, animal medicine development planning, veterinary epidemic prevention and quarantine, environmental protection, animal import and export quarantine and other relevant guidelines, policies and regulations;

6. Master the basic methods of literature retrieval and information inquiry, and have certain scientific research and practical work ability;

7. Strong investigation and decision-making, organization and management, oral and written expression skills, and basic abilities of acquiring knowledge, processing information and independent innovation.
