1897 was founded in Jingfu Academy, then merged with Qiushi Academy to form Anhui University Hall, and later changed to Anhui Ordnance Academy, Anhui Army Academy and Anhui Law and Politics College. 1928, the provincial Anhui university was established here; 1946 changed to National Anhui University.

By March, 2022, there were more than 480 faculty members/KLOC-0, including more than 540 with professional and technical titles above subtropical high. There are more than 180 outstanding talents, including national teaching masters, provincial teaching masters, experts enjoying special stickers from the State Council and the provincial government, provincial academic and technical leaders and reserve candidates, and scholars from distinguished professor and Wanjiang.

By March 2022, it had established friendly cooperative schools with 25 foreign universities, including the University of Salisbury in the United States, the University of Central Arkansas in the United States and the University of hildesheim in Germany, and carried out substantive cooperation in teacher exchange, student exchange, teaching and scientific research.
