985 University is divided into the following provinces:

4. Three in Shaanxi: xi Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Northwest A&F University.

5. Two in Guangdong: South China University of Technology and Sun Yat-sen University.

6. Hubei 2: Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University.

7. Two universities in Jiangsu: Southeast University and Nanjing University.

8. Liaoning II: Dalian University of Technology and Northeastern University.

9. Two universities in Shandong: Shandong University and China Ocean University.
