2. Introduction of Donghua Institute of Technology
Donghua Institute of Technology (formerly East China Institute of Geology), referred to as Donghua Institute of Technology, was founded in 1956. It is the first institution of higher learning in China's nuclear industry. It is a multi-disciplinary university with the characteristics of geoscience and nuclear science, which focuses on science and engineering, and also has the characteristics of economy, management, literature, law, teaching and art. It is a pilot university of the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", and the Ministry of Education's "1plan" was selected as a university. The "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities" focuses on supporting universities and the "New Engineering" research and practice project.
The school has always adhered to the direction of * * * *, with the aim of putting national interests first, bearing in mind the historical mission of serving the national defense industry, adhering to the development idea of "building for the nuclear industry, making it famous and developing for the nuclear industry", holding high the two flags of "nuclear science" and "geoscience", accelerating the connotation development, strengthening the discipline characteristics and constantly improving the core competitiveness are the foundation of China's nuclear power status. Known as "the cradle of China's nuclear geoscience talents" and "the precious wealth of the world's atomic energy industry", it has sent more than 240,000 professionals at all levels for the national defense industry and the economic and social development of Jiangxi Province, including academicians of China Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Engineering and a large number of government department leaders, business elites, leading talents in science and technology and senior technical experts.
The school has two campuses, Nanchang and Fuzhou, with a total campus area of more than 2,500 mu. There are Earth Science College, Geophysics and Measurement and Control Technology College, Water Resources and Environmental Engineering College, Surveying and Mapping Engineering College, Chemical Biology and Materials Science College, Nuclear Science and Engineering College, Mechanical and Electronic Engineering College, Information Engineering College, Science College, Civil and Architectural Engineering College, Software College, school of economics and management, Grammar College, Foreign Languages College, Fuzhou Normal College, Marxism College, Physical Education College, Art College, Graduate School, There are more than 20 teaching units including National Defense Education College, National Defense Science and Technology College (Nuclear Energy College), Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education College (Artificial Intelligence College), International Education College, Higher Vocational and Technical College and Continuing Education College.
Post-Doctoral Research Center 1 unit, postdoctoral research mobile station 1 unit, academician workstation 1 unit, 3 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 9 first-level disciplines authorized by master degree1unit, and 5 categories authorized by master degree1unit. At present, there are 69 undergraduate majors, 59 of which are for national enrollment. It has a national specialty, a national education and training program for outstanding engineers, and a Sino-foreign cooperative education program, and is qualified to recruit international students in China. There are 5 national defense specialty disciplines in the 13th Five-Year Plan, and 3 first-class disciplines in Jiangxi universities in the 13th Five-Year Plan. Chemistry and engineering disciplines are among the best in the ESI global ranking with 1%. 13 undergraduate majors were selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and 23 undergraduate majors were selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Five majors, such as surveying and mapping engineering, resource exploration engineering, exploration technology and engineering, nuclear engineering and nuclear technology, and environmental engineering, have passed the professional certification of engineering education and entered the "first phalanx" of global engineering education.
