The language of CIETAC Cup Debate Competition is English. The mock arbitration tribunal is composed of senior CIETAC arbitrators and well-known lawyers at home and abroad. The contestants participate in all aspects of the arbitration tribunal by simulating the roles of the applicant and the respondent in the arbitration case. During the competition, both parties made statements, examined and debated according to the simulated cases, and answered questions raised by the arbitration tribunal. The trade cup competition highlights the combination of theory and practice, which is of great help to law school students to improve their practical level of international commercial law and enhance their actual combat ability.

In the four-day competition, after 85 fierce competitions, including round robin, elimination, semi-finals and finals, the team from the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics won the championship with excellent record, and won five trophies, including the best debater and the best team. The China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission will fully sponsor the winning team from the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics to participate in the Willem C. The Law School of the University of International Business and Economics sent a foreign teacher, David Branson, as a coach, and a team of five graduate students, including Ye Congying and Dai Shangqun, and undergraduate students, including Lan Nan, Yang, participated in this competition. After more than two months of hard preparation, the team consulted and analyzed a large number of legal books and case materials, prepared complaints and oral statements, and prepared different examination plans for various problems that may be encountered in the competition. At the same time, team members constantly examine every argument and every expression to ensure that every point of view has a solid legal foundation and strong persuasiveness. Before the game, the team conducted more than a dozen simulation competitions in the team, conducted substantive confrontation training, and constantly improved, fully embodying the spirit of teamwork and Excellence.

This is the first time that the team of the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics has won the national championship since the 13th China Trade Cup was held in 2002, which fully demonstrates the remarkable achievements made by the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics in cultivating high-level foreign-related economic and trade legal talents with an international perspective. The victory of the law school team in this competition is not only due to the excellent performance and strong contribution of the students, but also due to the high attention and careful management of the law school. The Law School has issued a unified management method for students to participate in five major English international competitions (including Vis mock trial, Jessup, ELSA-WTO, International Criminal Court mock trial competition and media law mock trial competition), and has added a series of measures such as joint enrollment, unified selection, rational allocation, streamlining the team, ensuring communication and cooperation, and established a mock trial student committee of the Law School. After the players and coaches were in place, Vice President Gong talked with the players' coaches one by one, made clear the tasks and requirements of the college, kept abreast of the progress and situation of the players, closely followed them, and corrected them in time when problems were found. As instructors of CIETAC Cup, Jane and David, foreign teachers of law school, carefully guided the students' drills and played an indispensable role in ensuring the champion. In the process of preparing for the trade cup competition, I received the careful care and guidance from Shi, Dean of Law School, and Gong, Vice President of Law School. The office of the Law School fully provided logistical assistance such as venues, equipment and materials, which ensured the smooth development of the preparatory activities.
