It was founded on May 26th, 2003, and was jointly organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Midland Real Estate Co., Ltd. with the approval of the Ministry of Education. On May 20th14, the Ministry of Education agreed that Wenhua School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology should be transformed into an independent private undergraduate school and renamed Wenhua College.
