Suzhou University of Science and Technology, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a university jointly established by People's Republic of China (PRC), the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It has been selected into the excellent engineer education and training plan of the Ministry of Education, the national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, the national college students' cultural quality education base and the national college students' scientific and technological entrepreneurship practice base.

Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology, the predecessor of the school, was formed by the merger of Suzhou Urban Construction and Environmental Protection College and Suzhou Railway Teachers College. It was established in September 2006, 5438+0. The former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection is a public institution directly under the Ministry of Construction. The former Suzhou School of Architecture and Engineering was established in 1983, and the former Suzhou Railway Teachers College was established in 1980.

As of March 2023, the school has three campuses, covering an area of 2,300 mu, with 19 colleges, 64 undergraduate majors, 17 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 14 master's degree authorized categories, 1600 full-time teachers and more than 700 senior students.

By March 2023, the school has established inter-school cooperative relations with nearly 80 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions. Since 1993, the school has held foreign aid human resources training courses every year, providing training and academic education for more than 2,000 officials and technicians in the fields of environmental protection, energy and logistics in more than 120 countries and developing countries.

In 20 15, the school became the first batch of universities in China to undertake foreign aid master's education projects. Four Chinese-foreign cooperative education projects were approved by the school, all of which passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and three of them were approved as high-level demonstration construction projects of Chinese-foreign cooperative education in provincial universities, with more than 780 students.
