First, the importance of ideological and political education for freshmen

Therefore, the school should strengthen the ideological and political education for freshmen, carry out some new courses and cultural activities, so that students can have a certain understanding of university life, familiarize themselves with their living environment and receive education better. Then, how to carry out ideological and political education for college students, so that they can have their own independent thinking, successfully complete their studies, and spend the university healthily and happily, is particularly important. College students have just entered the university, and have realized the transformation from high school students to college life, so they should adapt to college life for some time. High school life is very different from college life, and the tense atmosphere of high school life is also incompatible with the flexibility of college life. After entering the university, freshmen often don't adapt to university life, which is manifested in complex interpersonal relationships, great changes in course learning and a big gap between ideal and reality. Therefore, schools should carry out relevant courses in time, guide freshmen to learn correct educational concepts, strengthen ideological and political education for freshmen, help freshmen adapt to the environment, and establish correct outlook on life and values. Second, the ideological and political education of freshmen problems

1. Problems in ideological education.

Therefore, knowledge learning and social cognition are no longer limited to books. Therefore, the arrival of the Internet age provides them with convenient channels, and even distant knowledge can be learned through the Internet. However, the network is like a double-edged sword. It not only brings fresh social knowledge to college freshmen, but also brings some negative effects, distorting their outlook on life and world, adversely affecting their study and life in college and blurring their value orientation. Due to China's unique educational mechanism, students' self-awareness began to form after entering the university, hoping to get rid of the control of their parents or society. When their sense of self-independence is the strongest, their ability to distinguish and control external things is the weakest. Therefore, when we can't correctly grasp the dividing standards of good and evil, right and wrong, honesty and hypocrisy, justice and imbalance, freshmen will form low ideological and moral quality, weak concepts and abnormal social behavior. Moreover, in the relaxed environment under the university credit system, the lack of collective honor concept makes them ignore the correct understanding of collective concept and only pay attention to personal gains and losses.

2. Problems in political education.

Some freshmen lack correct value orientation in their beliefs and ideals. The constant change of social structure has brought various social forms, and this diversified environment has also brought broad development space for freshmen. However, the vast development space also makes some freshmen attracted by the temptation of the outside world and deviate from their own life trajectory. For example, some freshmen pay attention to the pursuit of material interests, thus losing the moral bottom line; Some freshmen are addicted to the enjoyment in reality and ignore the spiritual satisfaction. On the other hand, they are divorced from social reality in thought and behavior, which makes their political discrimination and cognitive behavior ability immature. Therefore, when they face all kinds of external information, their ability to deal with external affairs is poor because of the incompleteness of independent consciousness and the limitation of their own life experience and social consciousness.

Third, measures to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of freshmen

1. Strengthen the theoretical research of ideological and political education for freshmen.

Anyone who enters a new environment must know something about the new environment, in order to better adapt to the environment and realize their own development in the new environment, and freshmen are no exception. For freshmen, the new environment they have to adapt to is the environment of university life, including the learning environment, school learning equipment and life services provided by the school. 2. Improve the professional quality of ideological and political educators.

First of all, improve the professional ability of ideological and political education team. The professional quality of educators plays a decisive role in the ideological and political education of freshmen. Only a high-quality education team can ensure the institutionalization and scientificity of ideological and political education for freshmen and effectively combine it with practice. In addition, we should fully plan the work arrangement of the freshmen's ideological and political education team. In the process of ideological and political education for freshmen, a perfect management system can enable schools to fully realize the development concept of lifelong education. For the work arrangement planning of educators, it is necessary to carry out reasonable classified training to realize the hierarchical arrangement of personnel at the most different levels. Secondly, in the ideological and political education in colleges and universities, the head teacher, as the basic force, is the main force in the professional team of educators. Therefore, we should give full play to the basic role of counselors and gradually improve the planning mechanism of counselors' professional team. When selecting counselors, we should pay attention to professional ability and quality, carefully select educational talents, improve the corresponding counselor training and education system, and enhance their working ability through re-education of these talents. By improving the management system of professional teams, we can help counselors in thought and life, and effectively improve a series of related management systems, thus providing guaranteed leadership for freshmen.
