Inner Mongolia University of Technology, located in Hohhot, is a multi-disciplinary university with distinctive features, focusing on engineering, science, literature, economics, law, management, agriculture and art, with a complete bachelor's, master's and doctoral training system. Founded in 195 1, the school is a senior industrial school in Suiyuan province and the first engineering education in Inner Mongolia. 1958 with the support of Tsinghua University, Inner Mongolia Institute of Technology was established, which opened a new chapter in undergraduate education.
1983 The school was placed under the management of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region by the Ministry of Machinery Industry. During the period of 1984, the school was awarded the master's degree in the second batch of national doctoral and master's degree authorization examinations, and its running level was further improved. 1993, the school was renamed Inner Mongolia University of Technology, which realized the historic transformation from a single engineering college to a multi-disciplinary university. In 2003, the school was granted the right to confer doctoral degrees.
The school has more than 27,000 students, including more than 22,000 junior college students, more than 4,900 doctoral and master students, and overseas students 105. At present, there are 22 teaching units and 72 undergraduate majors, which are qualified to recommend outstanding undergraduates to study for master's degrees without examination. Since its establishment, the school has trained nearly 200,000 outstanding talents for the country and the autonomous region.
By September 2022, the school had signed cooperation agreements with universities and research institutes in 2/kloc-0 countries, including the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Russia, Japan and South Korea, and carried out substantive cooperation and exchanges with more than 50 large enterprises, including 9 allied cities, autonomous regions, SASAC and other departments, and Baotou Steel Group.
By September 2022, the school had 20 national and 10 first-class undergraduate majors, 5 characteristic majors of the Ministry of Education, 4 pilot majors of the excellent engineer training program of the Ministry of Education, 1 national comprehensive professional reform pilot majors, and 8 undergraduate majors passed professional certification and evaluation.
