According to the official website, the first phase of the United International College of Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University covers an area of about 350 mu. Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University Joint International College (UIC) was founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2005. It is the first university jointly established by Hongkong Higher Education and Chinese mainland, and the first new liberal arts university in China. Approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was founded by Professor Xu Jialu, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), former president of Hong Kong Baptist University and the first president of Beijing Normal University.
