The school was founded on 1956. Its predecessor is Jinan Urban Construction Engineering School, which is one of the ten civil engineering schools under the key construction of the Ministry of Urban Construction. 1958 upgraded to an undergraduate college, renamed Shandong Institute of Architecture; After several changes, 1978 was renamed Shandong Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
