At that time, Queqiang and other Peking University students got the guidance of the permanent conductor professor of the Capital University Choir, and were deeply moved by Mr. Wu's lofty artistic attainments and noble personality charm, and sprouted the idea of "hiring" Mr. Wu as the conductor of the Peking University Choir. At first, Mr. Wu was also the conductor of many professional performance groups. He didn't care too much about these enthusiastic Peking University students, but he couldn't resist the persistent will and repeated strong demands of these students and decided to go to Peking University to have a look. After the first rehearsal, Mr. Wu found that the level of these students was surprisingly poor, and they didn't even have basic music knowledge. As a professional command professor, it is really a thankless thing to cooperate with such a group of "rabble". However, these students' strong enthusiasm and persistent love for chorus deeply touched Mr. Wu. Peking University Student Choir began a difficult climb from music ABC to the broad peak of chorus art, and the intelligence of Peking University students was best reflected here. After several rehearsals, the students understood the artistic charm of chorus and gradually began to master the basic skills of chorus. Teacher Wu also stayed and was officially hired as the conductor of the Peking University Student Choir.
At that time, the conditions were extremely difficult, there was no fixed rehearsal space and the necessary funds were lacking. It is said that the choir can't even pay the minimum rehearsal fee for the conductor. In the weekly rehearsal, Miss Wu always goes to Zhongguancun by car, and then the choir students take her to the temporary rehearsal venue by bike.
From 199 1, Mr. Wu officially served as the choir conductor, and Mr. Hou Xijin served as the vocal director of the choir. Their cooperation is tacit and pleasant, and it can be said that the results are outstanding. Under their guidance, the choir has made rapid progress. 1992 and 1994 participated in the chorus competition of "Ideal Song" for capital college students twice in a row, and both won the first prize.
The growing choir needs a wider world. 1993, sponsored by students themselves, running the venue by themselves. Finally, on June 20th, Peking University Student Choir successfully held the Peking University Students' Heart for the Olympics-Yellow River Chorus Concert in Beijing Concert Hall. This is the first time that our group has held a special concert outside the school, and it is also the first time to hold a college student choir in the capital and even the whole country. The concert aroused strong repercussions at home and abroad, and many famous media at home and abroad, such as Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao, reported on it. 1995 On Christmas Eve, at the invitation of Shenzhen Highland Advertising Company, the choir held four "Let's Paddle-Special Concerts of Contemporary Excellent Campus Songs" in Shenzhen Concert Hall, which was full and the performance was a great success. This is also the first time that the domestic university choir has held a special concert in a different place. In addition, the choir has participated in the performances of Beijing Concert Hall and Zhongshan Concert Hall for many times, and its artistic level and performance quality have been widely recognized by experts and listeners. Wu Lingfen's six years in Peking University Choir is a six-year period in which the Choir started hard, matured and reached its peak. During her six years as a permanent conductor, the choir overcame a series of difficulties such as uneven voice, lack of funds and insufficient rehearsal space, gradually formed its own artistic style, cultivated its own artistic backbone, and became an elegant music performance group with important influence in the domestic chorus industry. During this period, the choir contacted and accumulated a large number of excellent chorus works at home and abroad, many of which became the choir's reserved repertoire. Peking University Student Choir has become a hot spot for Peking University students to get in touch with music, understand music, and then love music. Many members here have grown from the initial "tone-deaf" to the backbone of the choir, and the overall quality of the members has been greatly improved, and the scale of the choir has also grown. In recent years, a series of achievements and honors achieved by the choir are inseparable from the accumulation of these tracks and the efforts of several generations of members.
During his six years as conductor of Peking University Student Choir, Professor Wu Lingfen devoted great efforts and enthusiasm. Her contribution to Peking University Student Choir is irreplaceable and decisive. Without the guidance of Mr. Wu Lingfen for six years, there would be no choir in the past, and there would be no choir today. From 65438 to 0997, Gao Wei was the conductor of Peking University Student Choir.
From 65438 to 0997, Mr. Gao Wei was the conductor of Peking University Student Choir. In July of the same year, Peking University Student Choir successfully held "The Wind Blowing to the Mediterranean-A Concert of Selected World Famous Songs" in Beijing Concert Hall. 1997 At the end of July, Peking University Student Choir participated in the 43rd Spanish International Chorus Competition for Habanella and Polyphony Music and won the first place in Polyphony.
There are dozens of teams from more than ten countries in this competition, including internationally renowned groups with a history of 100 years, such as Yugoslav Chorus, and professional groups such as Belgian Opera Chorus and St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music Chorus. Under the guidance of Mr. Wu, the exploration and practice of Peking University Student Choir in chorus art for many years has accumulated important artistic precipitation and necessary artistic backbone for the choir, which has made the choir have considerable strength. The guidance of teachers Gao Wei and Hou Xijin and more than 400 hours of hard rehearsal by the members have all become the guarantee for winning the prize.
The impact of this award is far-reaching. It is no exaggeration to say that the Peking University Student Choir not only adds luster to Peking University, but also adds luster to the faces of all the people in China. Since the end of 1997, Mr. Hou Xijin has been the conductor of Peking University Student Choir.
In the long-term cooperation with Mr. Wu, Mr. Hou has accumulated some practical experience in chorus art. At the end of 1997, Mr. Hou Xijin began to try to be an independent vocal music director and conductor. In the past three years, the choir has cooperated with CCTV and Beijing TV for many times, participated in a large number of cultural performances inside and outside the school, and published a CD album "Riding on Singing Wings", which is the crystallization of the painstaking efforts of every member of the choir since its establishment seven years ago. 1999, our group won the first prize in the chorus competition of the National College Art Festival and the first prize in the Beijing Chorus Competition.
It is worth mentioning that in this growth stage of the choir, it has received strong support from all sides. Dai Yuqiang, a famous vocal artist, Wei Dong and Wang Wei of the China Symphony Orchestra, and Mr. nick smith, the permanent conductor of the Beijing Baroque Chamber Choir, have all visited the choir for guidance, and Nie, a famous conductor, has also visited the choir for guidance many times.
