Tarim University, referred to as Tada, is located in Aral City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a comprehensive university with the advantages of agricultural science and the characteristics of life science, and the coordinated development of agriculture, science, engineering, medicine, literature, management, economics, law, teaching, art and history.
Established for the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and the Ministry of Education, it is the first batch of undergraduate colleges with the right to award bachelor's degrees approved by the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the second batch of "three-round education" comprehensive reform pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education, and the national demonstration colleges for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Tarim Agricultural University. He was awarded a master's degree in 2003. In May 2004, it was renamed Tarim University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In July, 2022, the official website of the school showed that the campus occupied 26 13 mu.
The building area of the school building is 630,000 square meters; There are 16 colleges and universities offering 79 undergraduate majors; There are 23 doctoral degree authorization points 1 first-class discipline and 23 master degree authorization points; Faculty 1435, and more than 24,000 full-time students.
History of running a school
Tarim River Agricultural University (1958- 1960)
From 65438 to 0958, Tarim University was born under the care of General Wang Zhen, then Minister of State Farming, to meet the needs of national frontier defense and Tarim development. The school has survived tenaciously in a tough environment, developed and expanded day by day, and completed the leap from agricultural colleges to comprehensive universities.
1On September 29th, 958, the Party Committee of No.1 Agricultural Division decided to establish an agricultural college in Alar reclamation area in the upper reaches of Tarim River, and named it Tarim River Agricultural University.
1958 10 15 school was formally established, with county and regiment level specifications and the nature of work-study program, under the leadership of the First Agricultural Division.
Tarim Agricultural University (1960- 1969)
1960 At the end of March, Comrade Wang Zhen, then Minister of State Farming Department, inspected the school, proposed to change the Agricultural University to Agricultural University, and personally wrote the name of "Tarim Agricultural University"; April
The Party Committee of the Corps submitted a letter to the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region, requesting that Tarim River Agricultural University, the former First Agricultural Division, be renamed Tarim River Agricultural University; On June 17, the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region approved the gradual expansion of the former Tarim River Agricultural University into a comprehensive university and named it Tarim Agricultural University.
1961April 2 1 day, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps ordered: "Tarim River Agricultural University of the First Agricultural Division was renamed as Tarim Agricultural University of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps", which is still under the management of the First Agricultural Division.
1962 10 the Ministry of agriculture decided that Tarim agricultural reclamation university was placed under the leadership of the corps, and its specifications were upgraded to brigade level and managed by the first agricultural division.
1On April 26th, 969, the Party Committee of No.1 Agricultural Division decided to cancel the establishment of Tarim Agricultural Reclamation University, and the original campus was changed to Mao Zedong Thought Learning Class of No.1 Agricultural Division. Except for a few teachers who stayed in the class, most of them were assigned to various groups on the south bank of Tarim River to participate in labor.
