Official website of Sun Yat-sen University shows that the School of Computer Science of Sun Yat-sen University can transfer to the School of Network Security. Computer College and Network Security College of Sun Yat-sen University are two different colleges, but the Cyberspace Security College of Sun Yat-sen University was established on 20 17, which is a newly-built college to respond to the establishment of the first-class discipline of Cyberspace Security by the State Council and the Ministry of Education and to cultivate high-level talents.

Sun Yat-sen University 1926 was named National Sun Yat-sen University. Today's Sun Yat-sen University was formed by the merger of Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen Medical University in June 20001year.
